Add a Batching Programme

1. Enter Programme Details

  1. Choose a name for the Batching programme.
  2. Select the product from your products database.
  3. Enter the scope of the batching programme.
  4. If relevant select a Procedure from your Document Control module which will be shown to the operator when conducting the batch record.
  5. Add the person responsible for the programme.

2. Enter Programme Specification

  1. Enter the size of the batch to be prepared.
  2. Select the batch size unit (Kilograms, etc.) from the Units in the Categories module.
  3. Tick the Use Percentage Model box if you want the system to calculate the percentage each ingredient is in the overall batch.
  4. Compose your batch specification by selecting each ingredient using the add line button.
  5. Enter the corresponding quantity of each ingredient. The system will add the quantities together when Use Percentage Model has been enabled. Note: The total quantity of all ingredients must equal the batch size to save the form when Use Percentage Model has been enabled.
  6. Select the unit of each ingredient e.g. Kg, cases, etc.
  7. Add any relevant notes for the operator.
  8. If Use Percentage Model has been enabled, after adding the ingredient quantities, the percentage column automatically populates how much each ingredient accounts for in the overall batch size.
  9. Use the X button to remove lines.
  10. Use the Add Line button to add new ingredients.
  11. If 'Use Percentage Model' has not been enabled, the Percentage column is left blank and the system does not add the quantities of the ingredients together.

  1. You can now define the precise step-by-step process for the batch formulation.
  2. Use the 'Add Line' button to list each step.
  3. Use the blue arrows to reorganize steps in order.
  4. Use the X button to remove lines.
  5. If applicable, link monitoring programmes that will automatically generate a monitoring record when the batch record is conducted. This is useful if you wish to run a series of tests against the batch after completion. Use the Add Line button to add multiple programmes if applicable.
  6. Use the 'Add Line' button to add the monitoring programmes.
  7. Click Save to save the programme into the Plan tab of the Batching Module. Programmes can then be accessed from the Plan tab in the Batching Module if changes are required.
