Add a Cleaning In Place (CIP) Program
Configuring CIP Programs
1. Enter Cleaning In Place (CIP) Program Details
- The name of the cleaning program.
- Select the employee responsible for the program.
- The scope of the cleaning program.
- Conduct a brief assessment of the risk associated with the program and enter your justification.
- Include what chemicals are used here. Enter approval details and intended use, and if required select the relevant Material Safety Data Sheet from the Document Control module.
- You can list out any training programs from the Training module here. The user needs to have passed these trainings in order to be allowed to fill in the CIP cleaning record. This is an effective way to control that only trained operators are allowed to complete the record.

- Enter the name of the cycle.
- Select the chemical that will be used.
- Chemical Concentration Minimum: This is the minimum level of chemical required for effective cleaning.
- Chemical Concentration Maximum: This is the maximum level of chemical required for effective cleaning.
- Cycle Time Minimum (minutes).
- Cycle Time Maximum (minutes).
- Cycle Temperature minimum.
- Cycle Temperature maximum.
- Minimum flow rate for the cycle.
5. Define Verification Specification
The verification specification defines how the cleaning program is verified as effective.
1. For ATP Test Kit, enter the following information:
- Sample point: This is the surface point to be tested for ATP and residual protein. This field is open for any text.
- Target: This is the desired and expected result obtained after an effective clean against the standard procedure.
- Warning: This is the maximum result above which management should become cautious of the efficacy.
- Action: This is the maximum result above which the cleaning conducted is inadequate and action must be taken including re-cleaning.
2. For Residual Chemical, enter the following information:
- Select chemical used.
- Target: This is the desired residual level to be found in the sample and is usually zero.
- Upper Tolerance: This is the maximum residual allowed above which action must be taken.
3. For Allergen Control, enter the following information:
- Select allergen.
- Maximum: This is the maximum detectable level of allergen above which action must be taken.
